FLYP helped redefine the digital age of magazines through user-experience, storytelling, and engaging design. Combining high-quality text, video, and animation, FLYP strived to not just “cut-and-paste” the print magazine for online viewing, but to actually rethink what digital storytelling and the next-generation magazine might become.

Each story became a small multimedia production project in itself. Text was important on this site, but image, sound and video weren’t just supporting media; various forms took turns in the lead, depending on the content. Unlike traditional magazines that are beholden to describe experiences through the written word, FLYP was able to provide you those actual experiences–listen to the people being quoted, hear the songs being described, and dive deeper into the content areas that interest you the most.
